Yeah, I found the HP/Eaton mgmt module part number, and they go on ebay from $90 and up. Ouch

Hopefully batteries can just be swapped and no crazy hacking nonsense like I had to deal with on the APC units

there are good and bad models in APC product line, SUA and older are hot garbage not suitable to be used anywhere except cold server rooms. SMT are very good except SMT750 (tower, not 2U) and they never overheat batteries in standby. Quite the opposite SMT750 has wrong internal placement of 'green' PSU pcb on the wall of battery bay which runs hot and kills batteries within year or two. And APC Smart-ups feature of manual battery voltage adjustment is so great that I can't image risk of using any other UPS without it
