I saw two big boys on ebay. According to the specs I found at 3200GB Ultrastar SN100 Series NVMe PCIe SSD | HGST its 3DWPD 3.2TB NVMe and over 740K read IOPS.

I've not heard much about them. Has anyone tried?

I prob won't get but here's the link where they're $1500 ea. HGST HUSPR3232ADP301 PCIe SSA 3200GB 3.2TB SOLID STATE DRIVE 95000-02101-AT8DA1 | eBay

Did these ever ship in quantity?

With the cost of u2 spots big drives like this would save a penny over using smaller cheaper drives. u2 isn't like sata

I have not used these drives but I think that is a good price. With NVMe you should not have major driver issues and HGST tends to put out good drives.
