i've got a few older thinkpads where the battery is only holding 20-30% of it's original charge. i'd like to replace them. i picked up a few "aftermarket" batteries on eBay, but they are crap. stated capacity was 5200mAh and when I charged it up it only went to 4500mAh, and then on the 2nd charge cycle it's now under 4000mAh! going to return it, but this isn't the 1st time i bought "aftermarket" battery and got crap (on both eBay and Amazon).

does anyone have a good source (could be anywhere, or even a trusted eBay or Amazon seller) for quality laptop batteries that actually are as advertised and don't lose capacity on the 2nd charge cycle?

@OP:
My experience is similar to yours.
Only OEM batteries last longer than 2 years for me; however since the devices are ancient i go to 3rd party.
My eBay/Amazon aftermarket batteries might make it 2 year but are usually 50% less than OEM.
