Anyone else with troubles on ASRock ep2c602-4ld16?

I'm running three of these boards now. One runs windows server 2012r2 without issue. The other two run esxi 6.5 (previously 5.5 and 6.0). So I know the board is perfectly compatible with 2012r2 without issue. I did experience issues on one build with memory. I would get the purple screen of death on an ESXi and freezes during a windows install. In took out all but 4 dimms and it all went away. I sent back the whole set and got a new one. Flawless ever since.

Have you ever checked the BMC event log to see if you are getting any false cpu temp events as documented here False temp alerts and fan Issues - Xeon E5-25x0 v1 ? I have them on mine. I suspect most people never check.

If you are set on win 10 and 2011 v1 and v2, I recommend asus z9ped16 and intel s2600cp.... based on extensive personal experience with both as I have both currently..... the asus board is running dual 2696 v2 currently and the latest win 10 1709 perfectly.

I tried two supermicro 2011 board with the latest 1709 win 10 and had got random lockup and bsod before... but havent got anything like that with the asus board or intel s2600. ...

Asus is better than intel as intel wont let you use oem cpu like 2696v2 even though its not a qs or es cpu. If the cpu is not specifically on the list of supported cpu intel board won't allow it at all...
