I don’t have a specific video link, but the key is matching the exact PDB revision to your chassis/backplane/PSU type.
What PDB part number is in there now, and are you running SQ or non-SQ PSUs?
Once that’s confirmed, the swap itself is pretty straightforward. Take a couple pics before unplugging, and double check the backplane power leads and front panel harness.

Yeah it's really not that hard. If you have the Chassis manual it'll tell you how to replace it. Tag the connectors if your ensure of where to put them back.

So, i gave this a go. The original PDB in the chassis was PDB-PT846-2824. I replaced it with PDB-PT747-4648. The power supply is PWS-920P-SQ.

As i switch on the system, i had a burning smell. The SSD connected to the MCP-220-84610-0N (MCP-220-84610-0N | Drive Kits | Accessories | Products | Super Micro Computer, Inc.) had popped. I switched off the system. The system did switch on by the way.

The new PDB had all the 3 screws in place like the original system. However, i noticed that i could push only the bottom power supply into the PDB. The top PSU did not lock itself in place like the bottom one. Could that be the reason my SSD got blown?

I have since gone back to my old PDB. In hindsight i suspect that i shouldnt have tightened the screws and made sure both PSU fit into the PDB before turning on the system.

I am also wondering whether PDB was faulty. The PDB was bought off a seller in China (ebay). Is there more reliable source in USA?

That PDB is for the SC747 chassis and takes PSUs like the PWS-2K04A-1R. Pretty sure PWS-920P-SQ is not compatible. But I'm guessing you found that out already...

What about PWS-1K28P-SQ, is that compatible with this PDB?

Supermicro states that PWS-1K28P-SQ is compatible with PDB-PT747-4648 and PDB-PT846-2824

I couldnt find a definite article saying PWS-920P-SQ is not compatible with PDB-PT747-4648.
