Any new Supermicro motherboard on the pipe for EPYC Rome?

What MB brand would you buy for your new EPYC Rome P?

Interpro Microsystems took my order for Rev2.0 board today. I kept reminding that I need the Rev 2.0 until the point they told me to not to ask again because they got it. I paid them already. I am pretty sure it is the right one because the sales rep got back to me confirming the details with SM. SM also updated their specs on H11SSL-i which I ordered supporting 3200 DIMMs on rev 2.0 board. Still the PCIE is 3.0 but that will not bother me considering the cost.

Glad to see that Supermicro updated their website to clarify the CPU support for H11SSL-i. I wish they could update the tested memory list too, as currently it only shows 2666Mhz memory modules...

They do say up-to 2TB of 3200 is supported on Key Features list. They shipped the board already. They also send me a picture of board before shipment and it does say Rev 2.0. I opted for ground shipping to getting it next week.

Yes the spec says it supports 3200 memory, although I hope they could also update the tested memory list to confirm which 3200 modules have been tested for compatibility. Gigabyte has already provided an up-to-date memory QVL list for their Rev2 boars even though the boards are not available yet.

Can you post a picture of the new rev. 2 board?

I too, am anxiously waiting for a standard ATX H12 EPYC 7002 compatible motherboard to consolidate and upgrade from my trusty dual E5-2670 v0 server.

My wishlist:
  • 6 full length 16x PCIe 4 slots
  • 1-2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2
  • NVMe RAID support
  • FULL bifurication support on all slots (CAN YOU IMAGINE? 24 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSDs, in RAID 0, plus 2 onboard! 130 GB/Sec)
  • SAS/Cabled NVMe/10Gb LAN support would just be a bonus
Or basically a H11SSL-NC with the 3 8x slots extended out to 16x. Unfortunately, I am concerned that the whole Rev 2.0 mess is Super Micro implicitly admitting that they won't have H12 ATX options anytime soon.

Supermicro does have H12 boards (H12-SSW-NT, single socket), but only in proprietary format, with
Expansion slots:
1 PCI-E 4.0 x32 Left Riser Slot
1 PCI-E 4.0 x16 Right Riser Slot
M.2 Interface: 2 SATA/PCI-E 3.0 x2
M.2 Form Factor: 2280, 22110
M.2 Key: M-key
but indeed no ATX board on the website....

Thank you all for the great input! As soon as I get back from the vacation I will ask nation wide again. But it has been too quiet on the SM side of motherboards to hope for anything anytime soon, so Gigabyte it is.

But what about the the Rome P themselves - does anyone know anything about the actual availability of the AMD CPUs? I need both 7402P and 7502P. Did I missed a certain date when they will hit the shelves? Watched and read literally anything I could come by... o_O

Now I'm really confused. Newegg has some Epyc/Supermicro H11 Motherboard bundles available right now.

SUPERMICRO MBD-H11SSL-NC Mainboard, Factory Installed with AMD EPYC Rome 64 Cores 7702P CPU - Newegg.ca

These could be Rev 2, I imagine they have to be.
I ordered the H11SSL-i from newegg, but was a rev 1.0. so it is now returned. The rep said to look out for update to indicate compatibility with 7002 / explicit note of support for 7002 for the given product.

Also contacted supermicro and they said that they have only supplied Newegg with bare rev 1 boards to date, but the bundled board & CPUs they are supplying them are rev 2. They gave no indication if H12SSL were on their way or not.

Quite disappointed with lack of ATX boards, I have a chip, but sat waiting for a board to actually run the thing.

$7499.99 for a $4792.00 cpu plus a ATX motherboard only.......no heatsink or anything else?

AMD EPYC 7702P 64-Core 2.0 GHz (3.35 GHz Max Boost) Socket SP3 200W 100-100000047WOF Server Processor - Newegg.com

So $2707.99 for a single socket ATX Supermicro motherboard....ARE THEY INSANE!!!???o_O

Do the gigabyte boards have ipmi? How is it? My last build was a supermicro and it's been nothing but wonderful but these new amd supermicro boards seem pretty lackluster. I would prefer to have a full atx board with good ipmi, built with 7002 in mind and multiple nvme pcie 4 slots. i also don't want to wind up buying a board and getting a v1 accidentally. also how is the linux kernel support? my understanding is that 5.3+ runs it pretty well, but most things aren't running kernel 5.3 yet. i'd be running this with proxmox, so how does this run with kernel 5.0?

H11DSi will also support Epyc Rome with revision 2.0 boards. supermicro is in testing and validation proces of bios for rev.2.0 of this board.

i asked european tech support.

but now offtopic question...i bought rev. P1.01 of h11dsi for € 320.

now looking for 2666MHz ecc reg dimms of 8 Gb modules. SM QVL memory lists only 3 types of them.

i was wondering whether i can use any model and brand dimm-modules with 2666mhz ecc reg?

or is h11dsi and epyc 1st gen (7551, 7501, 7601) are very picky about memory?

i am going to build 2 cpu's on h11dsi
