Any good recommendations on a 8 port minimum SFP+ switch?

I do not need routing on it.

Been looking at the Microtik series at the moment, but open to anything.

8 port SFP+ or 2-4 Port SFP+ with the rest being gigabit?

If all you need is a basic L2 switch with 2x 10gb SFP+ ports, the Mikrotik CRS226 is nice, as soon as you start looking for much more you either have to know their interface/command line or you will want more in terms of speed and power.

Do you have a budget? Quanta LB6M gives you 24 sfp+, and there are a few available on ebay around 1000$/ piece.

Later edit: i don't see any 8+ sfp+ switches in mikrotik's lineup, what model were you talking about?

You're right, I'm an idiot and thought they were sfp+ not just SFP.

Stacked Netgear GSM7300s might do the trick...

8 would be preferable. However, I could live with six.

S500X-8F8T but it sure isn't cheap. A couple of advantages though:
  • The 8F8T model also comes with 8 10GBASE-T ports for additional 1GE or 10GE copper twisted pair connectivity if needed.
  • The last two SFP+ ports can be used for switch stacking (where multiple switches act as one logical switch) to SG500X 24 or 48 port switches which you can find a deal on occasionally, or additional 8F8Ts. Since the additional switch(es) also have at least two SFP+ ports, you still have at least eight SFP+ total in the stack.

Currently I've got my eyes on a Juniper EX3300-24T. It has 4x SFP+, and support for stacking. So far the best price I've found was new for $950.

It's maybe not the same price, but why not going onto Gnodal GS4008 (40 SFP+ and 8 QSFP) ?
I got mine for 1500$ (some have picked up for cheaper than that).

The black point, it's the "zero-warranty" because Gnodal didn't exist anymore.
