so if single socket Zen server platform matches E3, are intel going to dump E3 in favor for Xeon D?

a lot of effort on making things power efficient which makes sense for the enterprise, and laptops and lower power things, but I want the 200W desktop CPU if it performs well enough to warrant being a space-heater, let me deal with cooling it.

I'm excited to see how it performs though.

@Hank C well - Zen at 8 cores/ 16 threads will greatly outpace a single socket E3. Intel is already pushing E3 over Xeon D.

It's kinda crazy that they ran only simple benchmarks. Blender and handbrake are doing a simple task each right? If you did cherry pick a benchmark that's how I'd do it.

BUT if they're at Haswell power and speed AND they're pricing way lower, that's great for the consumer.
