Got an EPYC ES Processor, the seller claimed it to be the 3d l3 cache Genoa-X flagship 9684X with 96c & 1.2G L3. This processor seems to be very early ES which need early BIOS. I have an h13ssl-n motherboard. Can I modify the BIOS to make it compatible with this es? Processor is on delivery, I'll update photos once it arrives.

That's depressing, so the only way to run it on board is to find an early bios? @_@
even all SM X12/H12 BIOS are signed.
Debug/Test BIOS have used different Private-Key, don't work. seen on my X13SEI-F.
if h13ssl first BIOS 1.0 don't work, look for Gigabyte, ASRock, Tyan Mainboards.

i see SM has removed Genoa-A1 and added B1 microcode in BIOS 1.1a
possibly the ES need a older AGESA to work but that will make no difference, BIOS can not be modded.

Couldn't you just directly flash the NOR that contains the bios, bypassing the software flash loader that checks the signature?

RoT(Root of Trust)
if you power the board on, the contents of the chip is checked, if success ->POST, if not the chip is restored from BIOS backup.
edit:
on H12/H13 boards there is a different mechanism, but even if you change one bit in the BIOS, it becomes non-working.

I still can't quite tell if either of these boards might work.
I do see Microcode of A0 for both but not sure of the rest of the version info.

The AGESA on the tyan also looks to be newer which may not be better if we are trying to get an ES chip to post.

in the MZ33-AR0 BIOS is Bergamo A0 microcode, not the Genoa one.

H13's 1.0 bios can't light this cpu. This cpu seems not contain in this list.
