Are they really locking them? I remember reading that supermicro didn't.99% sure SM locks AMD processors at all.

That board is E-ATX so you need to make sure that you have a case that fits it. Also, I wondering if you can use any full-length PCIe cards like GPUs without interfering with the DIMMs and possibly CPU cooler?Looking at that vendor they sell Gigabyte MZ32-ar0 combos as well - any reason to choose the H11SSL-i over a build with the GB motherboard. The extra memory slots really appeal to me - is there any issue on their usage that I am missing?
