That number seems a bit...ambitious. I have no direct experience with that chip, but with my 4x Opteron 6276 machines I get just a touch over 500H/s per processor.
Here are my aeon numbers for my 6238's

miner@monerominer2:~$ ./etdocker.sh speed
aeon2d :
[2018-03-11 02:09:24] speed 2.5s/60s/15m 326.8 324.6 n/a H/s max: 328.3 H/s
aeon1d :
[2018-03-11 02:08:58] speed 2.5s/60s/15m 327.6 378.7 n/a H/s max: 499.0 H/s
aeon2c :
[2018-03-11 02:09:19] speed 2.5s/60s/15m 323.4 315.8 n/a H/s max: 320.3 H/s
aeon1c :
[2018-03-11 02:08:53] speed 2.5s/60s/15m 312.1 395.8 n/a H/s max: 579.7 H/s
aeon2b :
[2018-03-11 02:09:16] speed 2.5s/60s/15m 303.5 314.6 n/a H/s max: 350.5 H/s
aeon2a :

Just for reference running on my single 6276 here are my hashrates so the 6276 is running about 1100+. This is straight up untuned using xmr-stak unified build

Can you measure power usage? Did it improve much with tuning? I was hoping the Interlagos Opterons would do a lot better than that... I have a 4-socket G34 machine in the mail, but still need to pick out CPUs for it.

I am out in California for work the next two weeks. But I seem to recall that my power at the wall is about 165 watts when running the xmr-stak build.

8th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors

A i5 8400 6 core does ~1070 H/s w/4 threads
A i3 8100 4 core does ~760 H/s w/3 threads

Windows 10 with Xmrig 2.5.0

Finally getting my basement electrical wiring upgraded. But have a dumb question for those using 240 circuits. What is the brand/type of PDU should I be leveraging. my mining hardware will be on a 240v circuits (will have 2 x 30amp circuits).

thats not so much , if i use 6 cores/ Threads i get 1800 h/sec ( max. 1840 ) = 119 watt with my ryzen 1700x@3,65 Ghz , the I5 8400 1070/4*6=1605 h/sec
If i use all 8 cores of my Ryzen i get 2300 h/s = 130,5 watt ( complete , out of the wall - i have an digital multimeter ) , in IDLE my system needs 58,5 watt ( undervolted )

I was not trying to break records, lol, I wanted to run xmrig on my two latests builds just to see what the latest Intel midrange gaming cpu's will do mining.

They do pretty good per thread but they are locked so no overclocking, and they run pretty cool at ~37c - 39c with coolermaster 212 evo's while mining.

Both are gaming pc's that I built for my two youngest kids.

The i5 8400 6 core has a MSI GTX 1060 6gb gpu, and the i3 8100 4 core has a Red Devil RX 580 8 gb gpu.

Both really run games very nicely in 1080p with everything turned up.

They are VERY snappy using the desktop with regular day to day stuff.

The i5 8400 replaces a watercooled overclocked FX 8320 8 core and runs so much cooler and quieter.

yes of course , it s the latest Generation , for the first Time since 10 Years ? Intel has with AMD Ryzen real competition - otherwise you would never seen a six core Intel CPU for that price ...
Ryzen + comes in April with 10 - 15 % more over higher Clockspeeds and the real interresting Zen2 in 7 nm is anounced for 2019 , that will be my next CPU i think . 40 - 50 % more Power , maybe more cores , at the same or less Power Consumption and still for AM4 , perfect for me ..
