Just so folks know, Adobe Creative Cloud was announced recently which gives access to every Adobe Creative Suite product for a monthly subscription. You still download and run everything locally it just checks-in to ensure you are not using Photo Shop on two computers at a time. Normal subscription is $49.99/ mo but you can get $29.99 for 12 months if you are upgrading which is the same as the educational pricing. I only had PS and Lightroom but was still able to get the upgrade pricing. My receipt said 7 May 2012 is the day it becomes available so I am a bit excited to play with a bunch of new software.

Well! Looking at how much we spend every couple of years for only a handful of those programs this looks pretty tempting. Will have to look into this to see what's available for people outside the US...

AU prices:

Intro upgrading offer: $38/mo
12-month contract: $63/mo
No contract: $95/mo

As usual, the local market appears to be willing to pay more for online products... Bah.
