Accidentally bought Eth only ConnectX-3 PROs, but they list VPI?

I mistakenly bought some ConnectX-3 Pros thinking I could run infiniband on them, since under device manager and adapter properties, it lists them as VPI..?

However after much tinkering with the FW tools I realized the MCX313As MCX314A-BCCTs I bought are Eth only... so I tried cross-flashing to the IB/VPI firmware but no dice.. they don't seem to have the LINK_TYPE fields under the config even after overriding the PSID:

I just went ahead and bought new cards, MCX353As this time, but I was really curious if anybody knows why the cards were presenting as VPI cards to begin with? before I even started messing with them?

PSID MT_1090111023 is a MCX314A-BCC, MCX313As PSID would be MT_1060111023 which is not visible in your thrid screenshot where you repalce your firwmare
The partnumbers & PSIDs don't match the expectation :D

Can you take pictures of the cards, front and back sides? Especially labels with product or sku numbers would be interesting

My bad, I got it confused with the single port cards I also got, this one was listed as a MCX314A-BCCT. The original PSID was MT_1090111023. Should be in the last pic where I was reflashing.
