I have 2 issues.
Here's the first one.....

Getting a ton of these errors....

Is my controller going bad or is the disk in slot 0 going bad?

The second issue is, my RAID 5 set I created is with 7 drives then I added a hot spare so a total of 8 drives.
For some reason my hot spare is no longer showing. See above pic. However, in the right of the pic it shows SAS Address 7. It used to show up as the hot spare.

Things seem to be running fine but slow.

I think one of your drives are dying. The controller did its thing and set the hot spare as one of the drives, but your config may suffer until you get the faulty drive out of there. Try to see if you can locate the drive thats spewing those errors would be my first action.

That's what I don't get.
The initial RAID 5 set was the first 0-6 drives and the 7th drive I added later for hot spare and it was displayed as the hot spare.

Shouldn't drive 7 still be available/shown in the list?
According to the screenshot where the physical drives show in the raidset, drive 7 does not exist.

How does one determine which is the drive going bad from the error messages?
If I assume Port 0 is port 0 and the number 3 in the string "3x1:0:1" is disk 3 then disk 3 on port 0 is going bad BUT the controller does not sho it bad or going bad.
