better is an interesting word. I'd say that given the track record of both companies, Intel anything is a much better choice, at least in consumer land.

I would try to swing for the 256GB version for $128 retail, new. Cheaper on ebay. faster, 2x storage and not 2x price... if you are sticking with Samsung :)

Intel Retail for consumer or enterprise is more $$ but depending on usage may be a better fit

btw, i also favor intel raid and enterprise SSD drives, esp when they are in a RAID (which is just but the only way i use SSDs and HDDs) I have used a few Samsung SSDs and only rarely had issues but those were not RAID setups.
