Any response? Will these work in a Dell PowerEdge server?

Those are 12V. You would need 5V connectors. Can we use these cables to make them work on any motherboard by directly powering them from power supply?
Just a heads up that these do work and fit inside the 3 pin connector on the DOM. It's kinda weird, but they slide right in and ignore the 3rd pin. So if you have a SM board that also has little power connectors for the DOM this cable should work for you.Something like this should work from what I can tell.
Still waiting on mines. I saw someone above say that they arrived clean and new in small antistatic bags. Did yours arrive the same way? I wonder if the seller sold the "good" ones first, then are left with the less than desirables they are now sending out...The first one I've used is very buggy/slow. I'm guessing it's some older firmware issue or the thing is trashed. Not hopeful for the rest now.
The supermicro power cable referenced here DOES work you just bypass the 3rd pin in the minidom which wasn't used anyways.
I don't think a sealed antistatic bag means it's new - just that the seller has a way to put them in sealed antistatic bags haha. Did you look at SMART details that indicates they are in fact new?Got mine a couple of days ago and they arrived clean and new in small antistatic bags.
Have not opened them yet will post what i find when i do.I don't think a sealed antistatic bag means it's new - just that the seller has a way to put them in sealed antistatic bags haha. Did you look at SMART details that indicates they are in fact new?
Don't these need 5V, and wouldn't a standard fan header supply 12V?For a non-SM mobo, what's the best way to get these connected to a standard fan connector?
Yes, which is why I'm asking what, really, if, there is a way to get these connectedDon't these need 5V, and wouldn't a standard fan header supply 12V?
I personally would not but you could try wiring a step down buck converter (like the lm2596) inline to those fan headersYes, which is why I'm asking what, really, if, there is a way to get these connected
