Trust it or don't... I don't have the energy to prove it. https://file.io/2nQ8tGsITpxN

and in case you don't trust file.io... this is from the input:
sha256sum: ced14b015dc68a27eda13de826b0b849a2cffb851108d48f8c62263b2c63fa39

more clarification... this is RF35

This is "fixed" now with the latest PVE kernel - Linux pve1 6.2.16-5-pve.

2 of the AIC card in each server now report 4x NVME drives:

Code:
/dev/nvme3n1 /dev/ng3n1 PHLE741000516P4BGN-2 7335943:ICDPC5ED2ORA6.4T 1 3.20 TB / 3.20 TB 4 KiB + 0 B QDV1RF30
/dev/nvme2n1 /dev/ng2n1 PHLE7410004N6P4BGN-2 7335943:ICDPC5ED2ORA6.4T 1 3.20 TB / 3.20 TB 4 KiB + 0 B QDV1RF30
/dev/nvme1n1 /dev/ng1n1 PHLE7410004N6P4BGN-1 7335943:ICDPC5ED2ORA6.4T 1 3.20 TB / 3.20 TB 4 KiB + 0 B QDV1RF30
/dev/nvme0n1 /dev/ng0n1 PHLE741000516P4BGN-1 7335943:ICDPC5ED2ORA6.4T 1 3.20 TB / 3.20 TB 4 KiB + 0 B QDV1RF30

PSA: Don't update to TrueNAS Scale 23.10 “Cobia" yet if you're using this SSD.
They're using a newer kernel and it's now affecting it due to the NID issue.

They mentioned it will be patched on the next update.
Nightly might be patched already, I'll test it out later.

No issues whatsoever for me in Windows. In Linux, depends on the Kernel and whatever patches specific distributions have. You can always compile your own kernel with the needed patch.

Can you tell me what motherboard you are using and did you change Bios settings (bifurcation on pcie)?

Sorry for the late reply...

I have them on 2 different boards/systems:
A dell Precision 7820 Tower running windows.
Gigabyte GA-7PESH1 running TrueNAS SCALE Angelfish.

No special bifurcation settings needed. The slots are not bifurcated.
The P4608 and P4618 include a PCIE switch onboard and dual controllers. Part of the reason why these run hotter and use more power than other P4600 series SSDs.

If you're having trouble, try disabling bifurcation on the slot they're inserted in.

(Maybe I'm nitpicking here ... [but my intentions are good])
Are we really certain that there IS an actual PCIe switch?
Or, maybe, just that minimal subset of (PCIe switch) functionality to get two NVMe (PCIe?) controllers, full-function, on a single PCIe host slot/port?

If my supposition is correct, that (minimal pseudo-switch) would be very neat/useful if made available as a (inexpensive?) discrete component (ie, a chip).

Thanks for your help here.
I tried this card on four different Systems. Two Intel, two Amd Cpu's all of them on different generations.
And nowhere the 2nd Disk wants to work. I would exlude a hardware incompatibility, because both NVMe drives are recognized by Windows as Default NVMe Contoller without drivers / and as the correct name with installed Intel drivers. But the 2nd one always has this yellow exclamation mark sign on it with error Message that the Device can not be started Code 10. Hardware error appeared in the I/O Adapter.

Did I maybe for real get a bad device?

Can anyone help me with QDV1RF35?
I have several of these drives with a mix of RF34 and RF35. One has RF30 and this is the only drives that causes trouble and only works in specific pcie slots. I hope it could be solved by a firmware upgrade.
