I wonder how many you could stack in a 5.25" bay or two. It makes the PCIe HBA a decidedly large physical proportion of the space.

I do feel this is where we are going. Density is about to go crazy.

Dang it, another thing that I didn't know I needed. I was actually looking for something like this a while back, but with a mount to attach to an m1015. Something like the kingspec SAS controller to msata onboard. This is a great find thank you!

How about 4x of these coupled with a P9A-I/C2750/SAS/4L? Add 16x 1TB EVO mSATA drives, power the whole thing with a PicoPSU and house it in a really tiny box. Eight 2.4Ghz cors, 16TB SSD, up to 32Gb RAM. A little monster drawing ~50W at peak load.

Of course, you'd spend $9k building it, but what the hell ;)

Edit - almost forgot - fanless & dead silent!

Yea - I cannot wait for that. It is actually one reason I have been Hyper-V. Disk pass-through is just too easy and no need for Vt-d

Shipping to Aus is $12, bringing total up to around AU$75 shipped... I'm waiting on pay day tomorrow then buying two.
