Here's a crazy one for you: (LOT OF 4) Samsung Enterprise SSD PM853T 1TB (960GB) SATA 6Gb/s 2.5" $1099 list price with best offer for FOUR 1TB SSDs.

These are the datacenter TLC drives but with power loss protection (T in model).

That's about $275 per drive not including best offer. Seller has "more than 10 available" and 32 lots sold. Best offers accepted on all 32 from what I can see in the history.

Looks like someone snagged 12 on best offer and someone else 16.

I wouldn't pay more than 200 for those, you can get the next gen for the listed price if you wait.

Nice find esp in that quantity. A total guess here but I would think between $800-1000 would get you a lot of 4.

Any long term reliability issues with Samsung datacenter class SSDs? Don't plan to do any kind of heavy writing, will mostly be to store VMs, maybe some sandbox database stuff like System Center.

By the way, the thread title is incorrect, listing is for 853T not for 953T.

I have maybe 10 of these installed in different datacenter boxes and two in my workstation at home. Generally I use them as inexpensive SSD storage (e.g. ISOs, backups and etc.) I have yet to have one fail on me but a very small sample size. I think these are mostly HP pulls.

I was able to snag 2 Sandisk cloudspeed ascend 960GB ssds for 259 a piece earlier, sealed/new, better warranty and NAND tech than the 853T, wish there were more.
