Hmm my workstation is not set up for SAS... maybe an one of these card can be used in JBOD mode in a pinch for bringing 4 of these disks online for zfs. I am to understand there's a slight data integrity hole for its cache, if I don't get a supercap assembly for this card? But also that I could configure it to use the drives' own cache? The rabbit hole goes a bit deep.

At first I thought it was $109 for two disks. But no it is now 169 for two disks. Still a decent deal. But I'll probably pass to keep things simple with SATA

The price is down to 109 now. That's $55 per disk assuming I have no use for that LSI card though they might be resellable as well, which is nearly twice as cheap as the usual 14TB price. That is what it says before you select 2 drives. Then the price jumps up to US $169.00 :-(

I got mine today. Mine has the cache vault module on the controller already (p/n 05-25444). It came with 2 external SAS cables for some reason.

I'm going to have to pick up a backplane for my system (Dell T7920) as it seems my current backplane only lets you connect to the NVMe/SATA ports on the mobo and the cables can't reach the controller. I found this part out when I took the system apart to put the card in. This last part isn't on the seller obviously.

WTH, in for another 2. I have a boat load of 2 and 3TB drives I really need to retire.
