Hot damn I would love to fill up my new 24-bay Supermicro chassis with these... Sadly, I also don't have $9,000 available for this.

I put in a Best Offer that if he takes it well...shit i'll have to buy it. I'll be having a grand ole time rebuilding my unraid CACHE drive on these suckers. I may finally be able to put my torrent clusters on SSDs...that'll be insane.

Wow, I really wish I could afford to fill my 88-bay 417 JBOD with these!

These look like the STEC ZEUS IOPS SSDs with a different label - I got a single of those a year ago, but haven't deployed it yet - I was planning to mirror it but didn't find a mate, and I can't afford to blow even another $300 right now.

They are the STEC drives, the company was purchased. One and the same thing

S846 is also the closest I could see, the s840 I assume is a ‘series’ as the original s840 topped out at 800gb, or maybe they are special ones for OEM ?

I have a feeling this 'drivesupply' seller is buying up stuff and re-selling, and i think it's exactly the case with these drives as these were sold by someone else. Suddenly all disappeared quickly from the other seller who had these for sale..

Did anyone buy these and check the SMART info for Power On hours?

Curious how old they are.

BTW there is another seller here. Looks like it may be a different model but also 2TB.

Ordered one for a test. Need a bunch of 2Tb SSD's for a fast all-flash storage.
Did anybody test those? How much slower do they perform, for example in comparison with 850 Pro's.

I contacted both sellers. This is the reply from the seller sellitoff508 that I linked in the previous post.

----------------------------------

During testing of these drives we pulled SMART data on every single one and saved it away. I made sure that every drive's SMART data didn't indicate any failures of any kind. It seems though that these drives have limited SMART data in comparison to what i'm used to seeing on other drives. But that's a function of how much SMART data the manufacturer decided to program into the firmware.. Either way though.. see below for an example of the SMART data exposed on one of these 2TB drives.. Hopefully it is in line with what you're hoping to see..

I cant seem to find any markings on the drives to indicate a MFG date.. but I think they're about 3 years old. But the power on time is only 2 years according to smart data.
