2nd Opionion about a "Shuttle" PC.

Currently there is a Promo for Company about there Shuttle Pc: XPC nano NA10H7 | System-NA107
Hmm I need a new Gaming Pc. I need "just" 2 Displays who the support via the HDMI.
I will provide Ram, SSD.
So what does your Guys here think about the Barebone? I could get them for ~200€.

not sure if its worth it - the cpu they offer on them are some 30% weaker than 5900x

I would also be careful with those mini pc for CPU intensive workloads like gaming. My experience dates a little bit (last experience was Intel Skull Canyon NUC), but these are effectively laptop CPU and the fan gets very noisy under load. You are probably better off even with an average desktop CPU with a big fan.

I would hazard a guess that despite Gaming being in the description, it would be a poor performer on any AAA game. If you play nothing but old PS1 games and DOS games, I'm sure it would be great.

I will replace my Laptop who is just my Desktop now: i7-6600U CPU inside.
The still run W7 and will be upgrade if possible to W10, W11 later.
Its more or less a fancy Thinclient where I run some Software locally like a Flasher for the PI SD Cards and everything who need an physical Desktop.
Sorry for the Stupid Question but the iGPU should run HD Contend perfectly with an HW Decoder Build in? I dont need 4K (yet) even my TV would Support it. Thanks to the 2 HDMI I can going into the Matrix Switch I use currently and with an Type C to HDMI I would get one of the Port to my 4K TV?

You just need to look at the specs of the CPU. So I order one to replace my Laptop. I also order from Kingston an 32GB Ram Stick. Yes ONE, why? Because "later" when Ram get cheap (maybe used) I can stick another Ram into the Slot if I need 62GB for what ever. I know 2 Ram would be better Performance but year...

The 8845H is a Hawk Point APU - in other words, it's a Zen4 based Phoenix APU but with a 9% better performance increase - and yeah, it'll do AV1 encoding/decoding just like Phoenix. Its not Strix Point (Zen5) and certainly not Strix Halo (Strix point but with LPDDR5x, a wide 256 bit bus, 240+ GB/sec of memory bandwidth and a fairly beefy RDNA3.5 iGPU with 40 CUs). As a desktop, that Shuttle is...yeah, running laptop parts, and while the Phoenix/Hawk Point APUs will do casually gaming (hell, mine was emulating the Wii U just fine), it's not meant to take on AAA titles.

Hey I used to have a compact shuttle PC oh... in 2004 or so. Used desktop CPU's but a small proprietary motherboard. Was the home theater PC.

This one? It's basically a laptop. That particular AMD laptop chip has a "pretty good" integrated GPU. better than a typical intel integrated GPU but worse than a discrete nvidia or AMd GPU.

Yes sure I did know that before. BUT (!) I did not care and this Pc is not intend for Gaming. It will be replace my 6-7 Year old Laptop who is in a Dock as an Desktop since my old Shuttle died ~1 Year ago. The major think I do is watching Videos with that PC and use them for Remote connection. That Games work directly on them is a nice Bonus and I save Power by not need to use my old Shuttle with the RX(?)550 GPU and the Gen6 (?) i7 CPU.

AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Baldurs Gate 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Forbidden West, Starfield, Ghosts of Tsushima, etc. Those will bring machines with iGPUs (or even ones with a questionable discrete GPU like the GTX1650 or Quadro A500 with 4GB of VRAM) to a crawl.

Anything that is mid-tier in terms of gaming needs (GTAV) will probably work fine, but considering that the NA10H isn't sold in North America (and we already have Minisforum UM870 Slims with Hawk Point Ryzens stateside since late last year) and the UM870 Slim is being discounted stateside to 349 USD (oh, what a surprise, up until the end of the month to clear out inventory before the De Minimus expiration), it's probably fine. I think even a refurb Minisforum UM773 Lite (200 USD, RDNA2 based iGPU) will work just fine on a title like Satisfactory. Hell, I should probably fire up my HP mt46 thin client (with its Renoir Ryzen 3 and mid-tier vega iGPU) and see how it copes with Satisfactory or City Skylines.

the NA10H isn't sold in North America

I dont know since I dont know the Market there.
There is a Version (für Asia?) from Shuttle who even have a more powerfull CPU, GPU inside.
Sorry when I be persistens but for me its a good deal to got 200€ off it. It should be used only for thinks where I have to use an Physical Machine and connect to my Remote Server thats it. (Sorry forgotten also for watching Variouse Videos).
