2025 Mini PC options

Hi,

I recently started consuming a lot of STH content and I love the format (esp the "lessons learned" part!). Thank you for making this happen!

I'm just getting started in this space, and I've been looking at options for both a router/firewall/... and for a mini pc for proxmox'ing.

On the router side, it seems like the Qotom Q20331G9 S10 was discontinued and replaced by the Q30900* S13 and Q20332G9-S20 models. For most of them I can't find the specs for the 10Gb network chips, and I can't find any reviews for anything. The Amazon page for the Q20331G9 S10 is gone, and I can't find anyplace to order them (there's this site, but it looks like it's just for someone learning Wordpress, also the prices sound too high for USD and too low for HKD).

For the PC side, there's a new Minisforum MS-A2 that looks amazing, and I'm just wondering if there are plans for a review soon (would love to confirm that it works with 128GB, although... I have my SODIMMs already on the way).

So... are any of these planned for reviews soon ?

i've been trying to keep costs down and go with a small mini PC like the following:

GMKtec Mini PC N150, G3 Plus Intel Twin Lake N150 (3.4GHz), 8GB DDR4 RAM 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD, Desktop Computer 4K Dual HDMI/USB3.2/WiFi 6/BT5.2/2.5G RJ45

definitely sips power which is what I wanted to achieve. I'm currently using three of them in a kubernetes cluster and they perform pretty well considering the processor.

That looks very interesting, esp on the power consumption side. I wonder how the 2x10Gbs version performs.

There's a store now, but everything is sold out... Qotom Multi LAN Router PC Q20300S9 Series C3758R C3808 10G SFP+

New question...: 8 cores @ 2.4GHz or 16 @ 2.0GHz ? I honestly DK.Would use this machine with Proxmox + all network servers (eg pfsense, snort, pi-hole, possibly truenas)
