Hmmm...So with Unleashed, can I have multiple R320 on the same SSID and configure them to do (hopefully) seamless handoff for the family members who love to wander the house with their devices?
Yeah, that's exactly how it works. I have three R710s with Unleashed and it's been working flawlessly for a long time.

how do these compare with wifi 6 APs from Tp-link Omada/Unifi? Just trying to get a sense of what the delta might be look like if I moved to a Ruckus system, even if it is a generation old.

From everything that I've read about Ruckus APs is that they are ridiculously good. So even older gen stuff on the same band will make the competition's newer stuff look bad--especially consumer stuff.

If I needed any wireless stuff, this would be a solid deal.

I’ve been running a completely overkill 4xR850 Unleashed setup for a few years and absolutely love it. Once set up, it just works flawlessly and you forget what flaky WiFi even was (looking at you, Ubiquiti).

I just bought a few of these. You know, as a backup and stuff…

I have one of these and a R510, both running Unleashed. The 320 is the master. Do I have anything to gain by replacing the R510 with another 320?

Bought one of these and I already have an R710. Can these be paired in any meaningful way (assuming I'm using Unleashed on both)?
Anyone considering this combo, I can say it works better than expected. I connected the R320 to the same management VLAN as the R710 and it adopted itself into the network without any input from me. They now share the same management IP as well.

For anyone that's looking at this deal, be aware that Ruckus did not ship the R320 with a power adapter, so you will have to either provide your own 12V DC power adapter or use PoE.

The correct adapter seems to be listed under Ruckus' accessory guide:

The US SKUs are 902-0173-US00 (quantity 1) and 902-0173-US10 (quantity 10). I was able to find them on Provantage and eBay for about $16-18 shipped.

The power adapters are standard 12v 5.5x2.1 barrels, so you should be able to grab something good quality for cheaper. I personally buy $1 auction ISP routers when they're local for their power adapters.

You can also just power them with poe. Since the R320 doesn't support wireless meshing then you'll be running ethernet anyway.

I posted this in another thread as well, but would be good to have here for future buyers too:
A single r320 is no match for Asus RT-AC68U in terms of coverage, especially on 2.4Ghz. The ASUS is exponentially faster/better RSSI the longer the distance from them. Spent a day and half testing and observing this. R320 gets faster speeds on 5G when in close proximity.

For my home (not big at all), I have to do 3x R320s to cover what the ASUS was covering, and even though I placed a wall mounted R320s beaming towards backyard via big windows (one wall, and 2 doors less than ASUS location)I still get weaker and slower signal at the edges of my backyard, but it is acceptable. And I am obviously going to have the benefit of 5ghz speeds spread out in bigger area (if roaming doesn't suck), which is the only reason I wanted to change.

Some info for nerds - switch port reports only 4.00 watts power draw most of the time (negotiated 4ptdot3af, class 3); The AP heats up significantly (idle) on the back/labels side (there is a hot spot) - if you are mounting it on ceiling with under insulated attic, that constant heat is going to cause condensation in cold weather. The mounting bracket included in the box is for ceiling tile grid only; They do cell flat bracket, but it isn't neccesarry as it can be ceiling mounted with 2 screws only. Status LEDs can be turned off. Overall design is ugly (WAF is low). Software/UI is not very well organized (for example, there are Radio options in 3 different categories of menus, 802.11v only configurable via CLI from what I found, not enough "i" help tips). So some reading/learning required (not a problem for me). Once getting familiar with it, it's not bad at all.
