Yes, got five of them for 185€. I asked for rails, but they were sold out. Received them last Friday. They are great. The fans are a bit noisy. ~45W idle at xubuntu logon screen incl the discs and a keyboard. The discs were allright, smart values ok. Can't rember the power on hours and now I'm too lazy to check. HDS723020BLA642 and some Toshiba. The Toshiba are looking 1:1 the same. First thing I did was cutting out some space in the back to install a PCIe card using a standard 1U riser card and cable ties.

Any of you guys bothered to check how much power it draws when idle/stress?

Mine came with 2x 8GB PC3L-10600E.

Did some more testing today. Around 29W idle, 90W at full load, both with a usb-ssd only.

IPMI is working for me. I'm using ipmitool command line locally only. Didn't bother with remote IPMI

The fans are allright, they don't bother within my rack. Another one is placed closer to my desk because it's going to be my new firewall. I replaced 2/3 with smaller 3pin fans. Idle power drawn fell to 25W. Still to noisy. Perhaps I'm going to use it with a 80mm fan on top as 1.5u

Can someone tell what with IPMI, is it full iPKVM or just status/shutdown/reboot?

It should have iKVM, I just cant get it working. Spent last 35 minutes trying to figure out how to reset the AST2150 BMC on this board to defaults, but had no luck so far... Mainboard manual is not helpful. It can get IP address from DHCP, but there's no way for me to connect over IP, like there is some sort of firewall. Portscan shows this
PORT STATE SERVICE VERSION
22/tcp filtered ssh
23/tcp open telnet HP ProLiant ML110 Integrated Lights-Out telnetd
80/tcp filtered http
443/tcp filtered https
Too bad I didnt note original IP address.

There seems to be no jumper/something on board that could reset this thing, and resetting BIOS is not enough. Also google results on 2150 are pretty scarce. Any guidance or ideas are highly appreciated.

Did you check in bios "Server Mgmt" tab? Does it work with static ip?
Then try to use ipmicfg utility - DOS.rar (DOS version)
Or can download from supermicro website, it has win/lin/dos versions... Maybe you could configure thru it, it's quite easy to use... - Supermicro IPMI Utilities | Supermicro Server Management Utilities | Products - Super Micro Computer, Inc.

How many drives can you squeeze in?

Could I squeexe in a SSD in there?

How many SATA ports?

Anyone use it with Freenas?

Yep, I can see the interface on network and can ping it, but that's about it. No KVM over IP for me, it does not listen on ports 80 or 443.
I even managed to connect remotely with Supermicro's Ipmiview, just not getting console or virtual media...

There are two internal trays for 3.5" hard drives, you could fit one more if you moved some cables, plus one or two SSDs. SATA power splitters must be used.
Mainboard has 2x SATA3 and 4x SATA2 ports.

Even without iKVM, this looks like a good board - 2x PCIEx8, 2x PCIEx4, 1x PCIEx1 + legacy PCI. Just the 1U chassis provides no expansion - there's no riser.

If it has 2 sata 3, then it should have IPMI working via LAN1 sharing. Can anyone else test working IPMI.

Hi,

I also received the servers. I try to log-in into IPMI, but I don't know password - i tried command

ipmiutil.exe lan -N 172.16.xxx.xxx
and I got 4 Users:

Users: showing 4 of max 4 users (4 enabled)
User Access(chan1,user1): 04 04 01 34 : IPMI, Admin ()
User Access(chan1,user2): 04 04 01 33 : IPMI, Operator (Operator)
User Access(chan1,user3): 04 04 01 34 : IPMI, Admin (admin)
User Access(chan1,user4): 04 04 01 35 : IPMI, OEM (OEM)

IPMI View from SuperMicro finds the computer, but I'm unable to login..

UPDATE:

Operator has password Operator
admin has password admin

IPMI View is not able to start the system, only reset is possible. Also ipmiutil.exe commands are not working as expected:

Working
Hardreset
ipmiutil.exe power -r -N 172.16.xxx.xxx -U admin -P admin

Non-working
PowerOn
ipmiutil.exe power -r -N 172.16.xxx.xxx -U admin -P admin

Remote console (KVM) is also not working for me...so no VGA redirection.

Can anyone owning this server confirm whether or not it supports S3 (suspend to RAM)?

Hi,

how can I check it - you mean simple sleep mode in Windows? Which system? Windows Server 2016? Windows 10?
