I keep reading this as "Gaming." :)

Seeing how the sustained writing drops down to 650MB/s, I don't think it has super-capacitors? Consumer grade drives have a different "power off protection" by using a journal log that gets full on substained writes - so that's a tail-tail sign it's a consumer drive. Also, especially since they were comparing it to the Samsung 980 Pro which is another consumer driver - not an enterprise drive.

Also, it's TLC and not MLC.

Insane performance and good price though.

XPS along with other SSD makers has changed their parts without changing model numbers, usually to the detriment of performance.
I bought a XPS 8200 pro 512gb, and had it fail within a day. Only one data point, but I won't be buying anything from Adata.

Gaming SSD's are overpriced crap, I only buy used enterprise SSD's on eBay. I rather buy something used, without warranty, meant for the data center, than the crap they sell to gamers.
PCIv4 bandwitdh doesn't matter as I have yet to see any game being optimized to read more than 1GB/s over 3 seconds. All games are CPU bound when loading. It will be interesting to how games will be optimized later with data streaming, though I think latency numbers will still be a lot more important than bandwidth.

Enterprise overall has been my goto for last desktop builds.
Current i paid 200$ area for a Z440 CTO, 100€ for a 14core xeon v4, 300€ for a P4500 4tb pci-e drive.
Hard to beat the bang for the buck on it.

I ended up buying a SK Hynix Gold P31. Reasonably fast and power efficient.
There are not a lot of M2 NVME enterprise drives around.

I do use SATA enterprise SSDs for boot drives on some of my computers.
Generally not as fast, but I trust them. I have 2 intel 710s which have 40% overprovisioning.
