See if there are options in the BIOS for power saving and turn them all off. See if it runs OK after that and if it does, turn them all on, one by one until it breaks.

APSM can cause issues. Hence no problem under load.
Go into the BIOS and have a look at your ASPM settings.
Particularly the intel i225/226 NICs don't play well. You could upgrade them to the latest firmware (see my post) but I doubt that this would fix the issue.
Just turn all ASPM off and see if the system becomes stable.

in my experience swaping mobo is best way. a motherboard must run stable from factory.

Sounds plausible, the unpredictable runtime is still strange though, sometimes it runs for hours, sometimes it crashes within minutes.

No screens, no kerneldump (I'm running Linux on it) just powers off and back on, as if I pressed the reset button.

I'll try to find a different OS to run on it, to see if t is stable with something else than Linux.
That's my opinion too of course, but as a lot of people seem to have trouble getting these boards stable and it has a lot of settings in the BIOS, so I hoped it was some combination of hardware triggered by software.

I'd check the power supply. I had one machine where it did that at strange times and it turned out the mains cable could be wobbled in the socket at the computer end and it disconnected briefly and powered back on. I've also seen power brownouts do the same sort of thing.

Try loading BIOS defaults first, it should run stable with those settings, if it still hangs with that, return it.

i just got my hands on the CW-NAS-ALDN-K v2.0 (white board). are the settings (purple board still applicable) has any bios settings been changed since the previous releases
