Random freezing problem on cwwk n100 board, has anyone fixed it? is the problem due to RAM? Someone told me, their board uses SK Hynix which is very stable. I am using Crucial 16gb bus 4800 on cwwk n100.
Run memtest86, 2-5 cycles, if passed - it is not RAM related

I have the bkhd original board, 100 + days of uptime with 16gb integral ram ddr5 4800

Googling around suggests Hynix chips... dont hold me to that though!

main changes are:
before(9 lane)after(9 lane)
4 network ports : occupies 4 channels2 network ports: occupies 2 channels
2 M2: occupies 2 channelsno change(2 lane)
SATA1 interface: occupies 1 channelgone
JMB585: occupies 1 channelASM1166 occupies 1 channel
USB3.0: occupies 1 channelUSB 3.0 from lightning(NEW)
PCIe: shared lane with M2 slotPCIe 4X: occupies 4 lanes
I have my CWWK-NAS-ADLN-K in-hand, but just now figured out that the NVMe slots only get one PCIe 3.0 lane each.

Can I stick a gen 4x4 ssd in one of those slots?

Even better, can I buy one of those NVMe PCIe card adapters so I can use all four lanes it has access to? Can you boot off of those?

yes to the first question ( you will be limited to 1GB/s, enough speed for OS and normal system operations )
yes to the second ( that's how my server runs, max 4 gb/s ).

Update: after changing RAM crucial to SK Hynix, restoring default in bios, my Nas has been working relatively stable. Uptime has been almost 24 hours (Previously, only about 2-3 hours). I learned that the ddr5 ram management chip is located on the RAM itself. So, if anyone has the same error as me, please check the RAM again.

Good news. It may be useful for people to edit in the full model numbers of the failing and working SODIMMs and of your motherboard.

Ironically a lot of people have had more luck with crucial on N100 than with other random purchases. I'm only guessing but there may be signal/power tolerances in these cheap minipcs & motherboards - and perhaps in DIMMS generally - so there's a bit of a *silicon lottery* going on. Plus the Chinese manufacturers can't use XMP, etc from inside the DIMMS. If we add in the fact that these threads often discuss multiple boards from multiple manufacturers via multiple resellers - often without much clarity of which board is involved - there's plenty of room for contradictions.

Anybody tried to use the SYSFAN2 header on the CW-NAS-ADLN-K board?

My fan is running at 100% on it. But there are only settings for CPUFAN and SYSFAN1 in the BIOS.

I think I’m running the latest bios, the noBootSATA version from 6/24.

only CPU and sysfan1 have PWM control, sys2 is 100% all the time.

Nooooo! Silly me for thinking the four pins on that fan header meant what they're supposed to mean

I'm going to have to tear apart my entire box to get to that other fan header, dang it.

Maybe I can find some sort of USB fan header hacky thing instead. Thanks so much for confirming.

Can someone help me?

I have a purple CWWK board, and can't figure out how to make USB 3 speed work on any USB port.
Connecting a USB 3 external hard disk to one of the front panel ports, or the port labeled "USB3.2" on the manual on the back panel works, but only at USB 2 speed. Other ports do not work with my USB 3 external hard disk at all.

A prior commenter seemed to have success by changing some BIOS setting to "Auto". (see comment #661 by @mrvladis)
I tried changing "Legacy USB Support" in BIOS to both "Auto" and "Disabled", but could not get USB 3 speed working.
Is there some other setting?

In case it's related, there are error messages in dmesg on boot:

Code:
xhci_hcd 0000:00:0d.0: Unable to change power state from D3hot to D0, device inaccessible
xhci_hcd 0000:00:0d.0: Unable to change power state from D3cold to D0, device inaccessible
xhci_hcd 0000:00:0d.0: Controller not ready at resume -19
xhci_hcd 0000:00:0d.0: PCI post-resume error -19!
xhci_hcd 0000:00:0d.0: HC died; cleaning up
0000:00:0d.0 is "Intel Corporation Alder Lake-N Thunderbolt 4 USB Controller"
0000:00:14.0 is "Intel Corporation Alder Lake-N PCH USB 3.2 xHCI Host Controller"

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I got now the purple N305 version. I buy an ADATA 32GB 4800Mhz memory for it. Doesn't post so think i'm unlucky with this ram
Then i read more and i find a post about "ddr training" and the info on the crucial website. Same machine needs more time to determine the correct memory settings.
So i turn on the board again and after 5 min it post.
Memtest86 pass,

Another thing there is a bigger gap between the cpu and the copper heatspreader. The manufacture only use thermal paste but it doesn't transfer heat well with this gap, so a change it with a 0.5mm thermal pad.

Now i can't say anything about stability or c-state and power usage.
I'm still testing the board.

This is an extremely interesting information. Builders need to be patient when switching on their setup for the first time.
