I have the N100 version of the purple board (CW-NAS-ADLN-K).
Came with the following BIOS:

Code:
American Megatrends
5.27
UEFI 2.8; PI 1.7
CH-NAS-ADLN-K V10
06/04/2024 08:42:31
Tried installing Debian Bookworm, but the boot process from USB kept freezing around SATA/USB detection.
Installed the BIOS update from 畅网官方网盘 today (changes manufacturer to "CWWK" and build date to "06/10/2024") and the installer went through.

Thanks to everyone sharing their experiences here in this thread, is has been a great help so far!

Regarding this, by default fancontrol is unable to control the speed, it will ramp it up to max rpm but won't turn it down again, however, the bios settings for the sysfan seem to work so I chained 4 fans, set the PWM to 120 and call it a day for now.
There is a pwm2 and pwm3 file with pwm values set from the bios but they are locked, I'm unable to directly edit them. ( odroid-h3:application_note:fan_speed_control_with_temp [ODROID Wiki] for reference )
Hmm. Did you change the mode to software in the bios?

I think software is by default. I set the PWM on that one, there are some temp ranges but not sure where the probe is, seeing how it's always at 41C there is not much functionality trying to set up any form of temp control in bios.

MW-N100-NAS

Of interest I have just spotted these on aliexpress today, never seen any previous mention and google throws up nothing. Only seems to be N100 and not N305.

Looks like they have essentially taken the new purple board but swapped out the PCIE for a 10G port? Added a CPU cooler too. I wonder which SATA it uses... Cheap too!
any idea who the manufacturer is?

It's "Automatic" by default. I switched SysFan 1 to "Software" and now I'm able to control the fans via Unraid / (Fan Auto Control)
Installed "ITE IT87 Driver" and now I'm seeing 3 "it8613" temperature readings ... I suppose temp1 is CPU and temp2 is something different (motherboard maybe? It's pretty constant around 40C at my system). temp3 is reading -128C :)

I'm currently controlling 2 Noctua Fans in my Fractal Node 304 which are for the HDDs via "Fan Auto Control" by the HDD temperature readings. Left the CPU on "Automatic" which is working fine. I'm pretty happy with the setup.

interesting, I'll try software then. Want to do the same thing, control the fan by HDD temp. Even if 120 PWM works fine so far, no noise and temps are fine. I have some Arctics PST CO fans

Hi folks,

I've an Amazon voucher burning a hole in my pocket so am planning on building a NAS using one of these N100 boards.

My question is are these two boards the same?

This one and this seemingly identical one

Pics are the same, as is the model number that I can see on the pics, just seems to me that HKUXZR are passing off the CWWK board as their own? And for $50 cheaper? Am I missing something?

Most probably :)
Or you wait for a sales day on ali express.
The purple board (successor) seems to be a better in terms of hardware festures though.

Did bios update on the purple today. I could set temps for cpu and sysfans in the bios, but these are summarily ignored... I asked the topton on aliexpress if there will be a fix

Bios update:
just create a ventoy stick, put the iso (with or without sata boot) from the cwwk product page website and boot from the stick. No user input needed,
-> you will see what it does, fingers off the keyboard, just wait and be patient. <-

After the update, the board needs about 60 seconds to come to terms with itself and recognize the ram (scared me a bit). Then is starts again and shows the new cwwk logo, then in STARTS AGAIN, and then it boots normally :)

Good to hear, Thank you very much!

Now I just need to figure out which screws people actually get with their current Purple deliveries and what standoffs Jonsbo delivers ;-)

I am in the same boat, waiting for my N1 to be delivered. I got no screws with my purple board. But I think I have some that will work!

The screws that came with my purple board fit the Jonsbo N2 standoffs just fine.

I ordered the board twice (CWWK and Aliexpress), screws were included in the CWWK order - in the Aliexpress they were missing.
Also the packaging was different, CWWK: Jonsbo radiator was inside the mainboard box; Aliexpress: radiator and mainboard had seperate boxes.

I can confirm that despite the missing screws, the boards are identical.

After 1 week of configuring and testing here is a short summary:

My system setup:
- Node Fractal 304 case + 2 Noctua NF-A9X14 Fans
- N305 purple board + Noctua NH-L9i cooler
- Crucial 48GB (CT48G56C46S5) DDR5 5600Mhz
- 2 * Kingston 500GB Nvme (System Drives)
- 3 * Crucial MX500 1TB SSDs (Cache Drives)
- 3 * Seagate Exos 20 18 TB (Array Drives)

I'm running Unraid with several Docker Containers, VMs, etc. without any performance problems. The system is around 16W in idle (without HDDs) As mentioned before, I'm controlling the case fans via some Unraid plugins with the Bios Settings for the Sys Fan 1 set to "Software".

What I have not figured out yet:
- can I disable the Intel Corporation Alder Lake-N PCH High Definition Audio Controller? I can't find anything in the Bios
- my C-States are not going any further than C2 ... I set ASPM to "Auto" for everything. Here is a copy/paste from "powertop"

Code:
           Pkg(HW) | Core(HW) | CPU(OS) 0

All in all, I'm very happy with the new board. Plans for the future are to expand the Array with more disks and a PCIE->SATA Controller.

toptonpc representative told me on Ali that the board does always full throttle on all fans…I set the temp limits innthe bios, but no change…
