I bought my XS512EM over seven years ago. I'm having a hard time believing it's still the best option. Not only is there little competition, but it hasn't even gone down in price, it's basically the same inflation-adjusted price today ($1149) that I originally paid ($890).

Why replace it? While it's very quiet, I'd prefer 12+2 port fanless, or upgrade to 16+2 port at the same noise level.

Are there any reasonable options?

BTW I'm not open to an SFP+ switch using a dozen 10GBase-T transceivers. Fanless SFP+ switches typically aren't rated for that kind of power dissipation.

You may get something Realtek based for around $350. the RTL9313 supports up to 12 10G ports.

Something like this:

Fanless and more than five 10GbT ports is really not a thing. New PHYs are coming out NOW that run cooler. Maybe it'll be a thing in 2027.
I have this exact model and I did not have a good experience. The POE to my Ruckus access points (R850 , R750 and R610) were very inconsistent and after much troubleshooting, I was given a partial refund and currently using it as a non POE 10G switch. Your mileage may vary. And it runs hot!
