One thing that always bothered me with 10GBE was the noise of the switches, especially the GBase-T/RJ45 based models.
Was there a development regarding the noise in the last decade? Are there models with 12 or more ports that could live on a desk/in an office environment?

We have a bunch of switches, and there is a range. The QNAP 8x 10Gbase-T and 8x SFP+ is one that we did that is very reasonable noise

I have the 100gbe qsw-m7308r-4x next to my bed and it’s actually very silent. Ubiquiti has a fanless 10gbe switch too - not 12 ports though.
