i just brought a MBD-X10SDV-4C-TLN2F-O , i thought my switch is 10Gbase-T but i was wrong my switch is 10Gb SFP :( i search Ebay doesn't seem to have 10Gbase-T NIC for sale..

my plan was to use to direct connection to my Video/Photo editing workstation.

is there an alternative for this ?

otherwise i have to spend money on to buy another 10Gb SFP card and waste my pcie :(

Mellanox connectX 2 - there's a few thread on here about them - are dirt cheap second hand and very popular around these parts

Indeed, it's the SFP+ version. You can connect it to the SFP+ ports on your switch with DACs or with tranceivers and fibre

If the OP wants to have 10Gbase-T from a Xeon D to another desktop, and needs a PCIe desktop card, I'd agree the X540 is the way to go. Here would be my suggestions:

Cheap: XR997 Dell / Intel 10 Gigabit Ethernet Network Card PCIe $90 single port dell. You'll prob want to fan mod if its too loud but certainly an option.

Dual port cisco: Cisco UCSC-PCIE-C10T-02 VIC 1225T Dual Port 10GBase T Adapter $170.

China Intel X540 dual $195: Intel X540-T2 10G Dual RJ45 Ports PCI-Express Ethernet Converged Network Adapter
