Going off on a little bit of a tangent here...

It may seem shocking and it’s hard to compare a good corporate discount to what’s in the general market place but Cisco 10G twinax DAC cables cost less than a quality fiber patch and more than a quality copper cat7 patch. Just to put it in some kind of perspective of why they ate good.

Fiber price is ok but the SFP’s make the total package less competitive from a pure it’s cheap to use at home context, of course the lower latency is measurable (as in certain apps it makes an actual difference, eg SAP application to DB server traffic) and lower power also.
