As stated, easy google search, but there you go.

Attached Screenshots from official datasheets for x710 and also x520. Please compare the Dual Port Variant, first line.
I'm not sure whats that ?

Do you have comparisons vs non Intel cards ? Say Mellanox ConnectX 3 or 4 Lx ?

You talked about ASPM a lot, do you have W numbers with or without it being enabled ?

X710 is 4.3W dual port SR. X520 is 10W. Only X710 plays nice with ASPM, the other cards don't (X520, ConnectX 3& 4)

Do we have actual power consumptions available for 2 port X520 mini pc with N355 CPU and 4 port X710 mini pc with Intel Pentium Gold 8505 when only two 10G ports are in use? It would be nice to compare these in 10Gbit routing for consumption and performance.
Price difference is anyway ~150€ which is quite a lot.

Im currently comparing these either Topton or CWWK versions:

Or do we have better options in price range 300-400€?

n305 is still one of the best and cheapest CPUs for that

Yes i understand too that is good cpu for 10G but i'm just wondering whether there is power consumptions available to compare difference between these two setups since we know X710 consumes less power than X520 and propably N355 less than Pentium Gold 8505.
So what would be real world consuption and is there actually difference that matters?

I recently got this one:
Topton i7-13620H 2x10G SFP 10G SFP 4x2.5G Nics ( PcZinophyte 13th Gen Solid Firewall PC Core i7-13620H 2x10G SFP 10G SFP 4x2.5G Nics 2*DDR5 5G SIM Industrie Mini PC Computer Server: Amazon.de: Computer & Zubehör ).
Put in 64GB Crucial and a 2TB WD Red NVMe.
Proxmox with 4x Ubuntu 24.04 (Zabbix/2x Zabbix Proxy/UniFi Network Application Server) / 1x HAOS VM and 1x OPNsense with Zenarmor:
Around 40 Watts.

Turning off OPNsense, around 30 watts.
Measured with one of those IKEA plugs, I cannot type that name. ;)

There is also coming model Q10900U6 which seems to be perfect, except that i would like to see Intel X550 or some other energy efficient 10G NIC, not X540. I'm waiting for pricing, i got response that they will sen email when it is available to order.

The one with dual X710 SFP+ interface is interesting. I already bought the one with dual Aquantia NICs a couple of months ago though, when an SFP+ version wasn't available.

If you want energy efficient 10GBASE-T, Intel isn't really your best bet.

That dual Aquantia could be option for me too but i would like to run Opnsense and i understood there is not yet driver available so that is problem. For energy efficiency that might be best option so far.

Yeah, FreeBSD has subpar NIC driver support, so an Intel NIC is a better option in that case. :)
