Oh well, i just got it, ebay wasn't updated, and did some benchmark without updating yet the firmware/driver:



I may not do it when i see those benchmarks. :p

seeing all these benchmarks now I am very disappointed I sat on the fence for too long to grab one myself. They are definitely a very nice drive for those who got them.

After looking as some docs for FreeNAS and FreeBSD, the LSI 2308 cards are supported by the driver that ships with FreeNAS. So we'll see how that support carries over to the nytro.

I feel the same way :( would be nice to grab 4 o these for my esxi storage.

I finally nailed a deal here. I'll stripe across all 4 and post benchmarks this weekend. I don't plan to use them that way, but it'll be interesting.

The ATTO benchmarks are highly suspect. Unless the controller has less than 256MB of cache the results are totally bogus. Here's two 7200RPM 6TB Toshiba drives in RAID-1 on an LSI based controller with 1gB of cache.

Hint, they don't actually deliver 3gByte/sec writes.

AFAIK, they have no cache. I've got fusion-io cards that get close to those numbers, and physically it looks like there is 4 different separate SSD stacks. Those numbers are in line with what the specs are.
