I'm about to make the shift from a Windows Server 2016 with Storage Spaces for CIFS/iSCSI over to a Linux with ZFS , to hopefully get better disk & network performance out of my hardware. Any advice on how best to setup, or anything I should consider would be greatly appreciated.
NAS...
So I have a Windows 2012 R2 server acting as my NAS for CIFS/NFS/iSCSI at the moment.
I originally created the pool with: - (5) Hitachi NAS drives 7.2K - 4TB
- (2) Samsung Evo 850 - 250GB [both dedicated journals]
Now I have a 2nd set of the 7 drives above, and i want to grow the existing pool...
I've been messing around for quite some time.... Trying to figure out the correct set of firmware & drivers to use on these ConnectX-2 dual port QDR cards (MT26428) on ESXi 6.0, with the best results.
Currently running 2.10.720 firmware on all adapters. (tried 2.9.1200 and 2.9.1000)
