Roughly the same here Toronto - Niagara Falls NY but It feels too inefficient to drive 2 hours, pay $5-7 for a package, $4 for bridge tolls for $50 in product so I end up leaving stuff around for ages until it accumulates or I'm heading down there anyway. By then the customs guy never lets me...
Picked up a pair for $50 each for my home server. Replaced the 2630L's that were in there previously. Oddly enough, temps went down, fans spun down so system is quieter and idle power consumption dropped too (assume due to lower fan speed). Couldn't be happier with the upgrade.
I don't see it listed as officially compatible, but is there any reason why this wouldn't be compatible with the cse846 1200 case (my particular one was the one from liquid8 shared as a deal here last year? I know there's like 50 revisions of it but shouldn't they all work?
Except in this case the sentiment is: if only I started looking a year ago I could've bought it for a quarter the price. It's like hard drive and ram prices all over again.

Mobile interface submitted the post a little early and I can't change the title anymore.
I bought a pair of these 2630L's from a seller in Toronto (laptoprecycle.ca) a week or so ago (in person). Oddly the ID...
So I've played around with it more and enabled a setting I thought I'd never want to on a non-capacitor backed server (it's UPS backed though). The no cache flush option on the drive seems to give me the expected performance. But should this option really give such a multi-fold improvement or...
Running an X9DRL with Server 2012 R2. Read speeds are bangin at around 550MB/s on both of my plugged in SSDs (120gb Kingston V300 and 480GB Sandisk Extreme II), but my write speeds look to top out at 80-90MB/s sequential and 400KB/s 4k non queued (100 IOPS).

Not to thread jack but figured I'd pipe in my experience with these little boxes. I've got a pipo. Pretty little box. Installed plex app from Windows store and it chugs along nicely. Haven't done all the work necessary in order to make it a full media centre (I use Fire Tv's for that) but I...
With 2620's fetching around $300 this proc looks to be almost double the performance (cpubenchmark of 13k vs 8k) for double the price. 2680's and 90's are still in the $1k range.
Oddly I don't see this proc on Intel ark? Looks to be some sort of oem chip like the L5639's were?

That seems to have put me into the 500MB/s range. Thanks! (Yes, BBU is installed)
Followup: My understanding of write-back cache was that it'd use the onboard memory on the controller to cache the writes. Since it only has 256MB onboard I assumed this would be more or less useless on any...
