    I've got an X99 board. My rig will be solely for C++ computations on real-time streaming data. I have been hanging out for the 2686 QS chips to come back, I originally bought one for 400USD and the seller turned around and said he listed too many and couldn't sell it! The Cinebench score of...

    Intel Xeon E5-2658 v4 QS 2.3GHz LGA2011-3 14C Compatible with X99 i7-6850K 6900K | eBay Has anyone tested one of these? QS 1792cb score. 2.3ghz- 2.8ghz turbo. Would this chip outperform the 2683 V3 OEM? Single core boost is poor, especially compared to the likes of the 2686 V3( Dam i wish...

    Yeah same with mine. Gutted. Great for PayPal, they manage to take their fees and scalp 2 x on the FX conversion.

    Xeon E5 2686 V3 Optional Ram Configuration

    I'm running Quad channel memory. An 18 core processor isn't typically run on a MB with only 4 DIMM slots(Asrock X99 Extreme 3). If it was being used in a server board you would run 8- 12 DIMMs per CPU socket vs the 4 that I'll be running. I'm basically asking if there is any performance...

    I picked up the QS, but would have got the ES if it was in stock. Sold out within 1 hour of that post. Yeah I noticed the only difference appeared to be the CPU-Z detection where the QS chips registered as a specific chip labeled (ES) and the ES chips registered as a genuine intel.

    Xeon E5 2686 V3 Optional Ram Configuration

    I'm looking to build a Xeon workstation using a Xeon E5 2686 V3. It's to be used in a C++ environment to run real-time computations. I had previously been using an i7 4790k, but it simply wasn't cutting it. I'm trying to understand what sort of performance impact I might get from an un-optimal...

    The e5 2686v3 QS with xtrememicro keeps restocking with "1 remeaning". I picked one up aswell. Pretty sure the ES that was priced $50 cheaper is basically the same chip.

    I'm now looking at the E5 2686 V3 ES ($349) vs E5 2686 V3 QS ( $399) QS- Intel Xeon E5 2686 V3 QS 2.0Ghz 45MB L3 18 Core Max Turbo 3.5GGhz 120W Processor ES- Intel Xeon E5 2686 V3 ES 2.0Ghz 45MB L3 18 Core Max Turbo 3.5Ghz 120W CPU Both look to have the same stepping.     Would you recommend buying one of these? My budget is around $350 I'm building a low-cost Xeon to run real-time computations in a c++ environment, across multiple instances. I have an Asrock X99 Extreme3 MB. I'm considering one of these: E5-2690-v3-ES Intel Xeon E5-2690 v3 ES LGA2011-3...
