    amd epyc 7T83

Just received my 7T83, big batches of these 7763 OEMs have recently been stripped from vendors as large quantities are now flowing into Xianyu (Chinese eBay), was told by several sellers that these are compatible with regular retailer boards (H12SSL, ROMED8-2T, etc...), will power this beast on...

    Finally: Overclocking EPYC Rome ES

Unfortunately I had to sign an NDA with the seller for this specific QS model, just a sneak peek without the PN

    Finally: Overclocking EPYC Rome ES

Got a 7713 QS on hand with ROMED8-2T 3.11 Lab BIOS, this thing performed ~7H12 in multi-threads due to lower-than-retail clock range (1.6G-3G). OP when can we expect update on Milan ES/QS to unleash this beast?

    Samsung 32GB ECC DDR4 Ram - M393A4K40CB2-CTD8Q vs M393A4K40CB2-CTD7Q vs M393A4K40CB2-CTD6Q

Keeping all DIMMs the same PN should be preferred, although there should be no problem at all mixing them.

    Samsung 32GB ECC DDR4 Ram - M393A4K40CB2-CTD8Q vs M393A4K40CB2-CTD7Q vs M393A4K40CB2-CTD6Q

Three major RCD (Register Clock Driver) vendors Montage, IDT ("Renesas" starting from 2020) & Inphi, Samsung always use two extra digits differentiating them.

    Asrock EPYCD8-2T new Bios

2.42 Beta was already with AGESA 1.0.0.4, and based on the naming of ASRock BIOS tradition, this should be the retail version (dated as Dec-11-2019) succeeding 2.30 on their website, thanks for sharing in advance.

    Overclock your AMD Epyc

That's actually exactly the case, underload freq dropped on that particular ES chip.

    Overclock your AMD Epyc

    Not quite high, 280W high-binned SKUs such as 7R32 48C (basically a 7H12 version of 7642) has an all-core turbo of 3.3G, 7H12 64C should probably be around 3G, that put 64C 3.2G ~350W.

    Overclock your AMD Epyc

Tested in Rome 7702 + ASRock EPYCD8-2T + SMU Debug Tool v1.1.1, unfortunately typing 0x5A resulted in "Error SMU Write"

Mixing Intel Kit A2U44X25NVMEDK with SM AOC-SLG3-4E4R on X10DRH-CT

AOC-SLG3-4E4R is known to have limited compatibility even with SM boards, as Larry has pointed out here. I would suggest using A2U8X25S3PHS + AOC-SLG3-4E4T, both are updated version with 8 PCIe NVMe/SAS/SATA slots (vs 4 PCIe NVMe only) + Redtimer (better compatibility than Redriver), you can...

Intel Cascade Lake-AP Is This 4P Cascade Lake Xeon in 2P

    EPYC 1S & 2S both have 128 PCIe Lanes, Cascade Lake-AP 2S would have 192 or 256.

    EXPIRED Dell MLX CX4 100G QSFP28 LP €160 - Gone

Dell Z9100-ON hands down the best 1U switch on the market, I was told you could get directly from Dell sales as low as $2,500

    EXPIRED Dell MLX CX4 100G QSFP28 LP €160 - Gone

Great deal for European friends, as it's only shipped to selective European countries, forwarding to Asia or US will take a bit more effort. Anyway, at 160€($185) this is the lowest ConnectX-4 VPI MCX456A-ECAT I have ever seen, albeit the unusual Dell OEM P/N. Earlier this year I snatched...

Move Over M.2: 16TB M.3 SSDs for the 1PB per U Data Center

I'm still not sure why this argument exists, as @T_Minus said it's lifecycle of tech equipment, every 3-5 years upgrading lead them came out cheap on eBay or many other sites, CPU, SSD, NIC or what have you, the rule applies all the time.

Move Over M.2: 16TB M.3 SSDs for the 1PB per U Data Center

Er... actually many of them are just spare parts with few bytes written, Non-OEM parts or OEM parts you name it, and sniping those with fraction of original MSRP is the most amazing thing you can do on eBay.

    Intel Optane 900p vs 4800X

Intel Consumer SSD (except 750) would never support variable sector sizes, it's always been DC only and can be easily changed in ISDCT.
