    40mm Fans, any recommendations?

I think I have the same 1U supermicro D-1518 as you. I replaced one of the fans with one of these: NEW Sunon MagLev KDE1204PKV3-MS.AR.GN 40x20mm 3Pin, 18dB-A Noise, Super Silence The noise from it is a little less than the lowest speed (4800ish RPM) of the stock fans, but still somewhat...

    Lenovo SA120 Power Consumption?

I understood it as 40W idle with 2 PSU and 100% fans (which is default). Looks like there's 6 fans on the back with 2 PSU and 2W/fan is about 12W. I'm guessing with 1 PSU and fans on low, it'll probably go down to 30W or less idle.

Xeon D-1508/1518 able to handle 10Gbps?

I have Supermicro | Products | SuperServers | 1U | 5018D-FN8T with 2 sticks of ram and 2 SSDs, and it's consuming 30W at idle. I imagine the 1508 would be lower, but 30W is pretty low already =).
