I believe they removed support for the platform in newer versions of EOS, so even if you have upgraded the RAM/Storage of the switch, it still won't work because the underlying chips used in the switch are not supported.
I'm looking for a 48-port 10GBaseT switch. Inventories of my normal go-to models are pretty low or non-existent right now, so looking for alternatives. I have two use cases for these - one is iSCSI storage network for a SAN, and one is for standard server network traffic. Ideally looking for...
@Patrick It would probably be way more economical to rent space in an existing data center. Most data centers also build out office space for disaster recovery or whatever, and they often will either bundle in some small amount of free space in a colo deal, or lease you some office or white...
Pretty common with X8 boards to just stop posting with the IPMI reporting "check feature cables" when trying to power on the board from IPMI. We've seen similar behavior from some Dell C6100 too, which are from the same era. It is likely that some component on the board failed.
It's a very similar board to the X9SCM-F, but it has different network adapters.
X9SCM-F has one Intel® 82579LM NIC and one 82574L NIC
X9SCM-iiF has dual Intel® 82574L NICs
I heard back from SuperMicro. They posted updates for X9SCL-F, X9SCL+-F, X9SCI-LN4F, X9SCA-F, X9SCM-F today on the SuperMicro site. I have asked about the X9SCM-iiF and the Microcloud nodes.
No - this is not the same issue. We have many of the X9DRi/X9DR3 and similar boards with no issues. Only the Xeon E3v1/v2 CPU-based boards are impacted.
Nothing beyond what I posted earlier in the thread. I suspect it will be a few days at least.
No, from what we've seen so far, it only impacts E3 boards.
Yes, when we were testing, we weren't sure what was wrong. It took clearing CMOS to figure out it was date related, because as soon as we tried setting the date after clearing CMOS, we noticed that while changing the year from 2020 to 2021, the system locked up.
