    [US] B&H Photo 12TB Elements for $190 ($15.83 TB) (27 Oct 21 Only)

I haven't heard of WD making a 14TB drive that is SMR. Most reports say over 8TB is CMR. https://nascompares.com/answer/how-to-tell-a-difference-between-dm-smr-and-non-smr-cmr-drives-hdd-compare/ "WD140EDGZ-11B1PA0 passed my stress-tests. Linux smartctl indicates they are helium-filled...

    [US] B&H Photo 12TB Elements for $190 ($15.83 TB) (27 Oct 21 Only)

Odd, but there could be a reason for that. Late last year, WD made a change to Red Plus specs and called 7200RPM drives "5400 RPM Class," and got a lot of flack for doing so. The 5400 are supposed to be more energy efficient. WD had to go back and start changing the drives nomenclature back to...

    [US] B&H Photo 12TB Elements for $190 ($15.83 TB) (27 Oct 21 Only)

According to users who've tested them on Slickdeals, they are CMR w/ Helium and 7200RPM. This is according to CrystalDiskMark. I'll have two here tomorrow and can provide an update.

    [US] B&H Photo 12TB Elements for $190 ($15.83 TB) (27 Oct 21 Only)

Maybe I am just lucky? I don't know though. Here is a SS of another pool of drives. (2) 8TB Red Drives (shucked too, but they had Red drives) and (4) 8TB WD White (Shuck) drives. I would have to get a new SS where I added the (6) 10TB and (2) 12TB drives to a new pool. This was taken recently...

    [US] B&H Photo 12TB Elements for $190 ($15.83 TB) (27 Oct 21 Only)

I've got an SC846. I originally had the TQ and swapped it out for the bpn-sas2-846el1. Very odd, I've got (6) 10TB drives and (2) 12TB WD shucked drives running. The others are all 8TB and I'm not sure if they have the same problem. Older picture, but this is DrivePool and you can see 4 of the...

    [US] B&H Photo 12TB Elements for $190 ($15.83 TB) (27 Oct 21 Only)

The Supermicro SAS2 and TQ backplanes do not need any tape to work. I use 10-12TB drives (WD) and they have no problems or need any tape.

    WTB: Supermicro 846

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers out there! Also wanted to mention it's perfectly fine if the case has been altered for ATX PS and things like that. I just need to be able to drop the pass-through backplane and a fan wall. Caddies would be nice, but those can be optional as well.

    WTB: Supermicro 846

Looking for just the empty chassis. Don't even need the backplane or any internals. Project case for a DAS enclosure. Let me know what you have and how much. Thanks! LL

    Mikrotik CRS317-1G-16S+RM / 10GbE

Nope, not Canadian, lol. I got mine from Amazon for $323 w/ prime shipping. I had the 4 port version on order from BalticNetworks, but the 2 month wait at the time was just not worth it. Sure, I'm spending more, but I'm also a bit future proofing.

    Mikrotik CRS317-1G-16S+RM / 10GbE

Thanks for the quick response. My Cisco SG300-28 is the primary switch after my pfsense firewall. My only concern about the switch you recommended is that it has only 4 sfp+. I'm currently at 4 and i need room to grow :)

    Mikrotik CRS317-1G-16S+RM / 10GbE

I'm looking to add a CRS317-1G-16S+RM to my network and had a quick question about the setup. Basically what I'm looking to do is add 10GbE to several of my servers and workstation in my rack. Then I'd like to connect the switch to either my Cisco SG300-28 or another Ethernet port on my pfsense...
