159$ US 'new' Quanta D51B-1U LGA2011-3 Server Best Offer

This is just the B04 BIOS. I've tried both B04 and B22 BIOS. The latter of which is much newer. Neither works when dual V4 CPUs are installed.

Also, my units are running on the 750W PSUs. Not sure if that comes into play but I'd imagine that should be plenty of output for dual V4s.

Just tried the B04 BIOS, still exact same behavior. Not quite sure what else could it be. What memory slots are you guys using when both CPUs are installed?

Yes, I tried dual for all 3 of these. If both CPUs are installed it won't boot. I also tried it on 2 different D51B-1Us, same exact behavior. The 2680s have same TDP as the 2678 v3s I'm currently running so I don't see why this would be the case.

With the B22 BIOS a single V4 CPU works perfectly fine. However, with the second CPU installed the server refuses to even power on. The power button literally does nothing. I will try the B04 BIOS later to see if it makes any difference but I'm feeling skeptical at this point.

159$ US 'new' Quanta D51B-1U LGA2011-3 Server Best Offer

Has anyone installed dual V4 CPUs in this? I'm having issues with the server not even powering on when 2 V4 CPUs are installed. If I just install one V4 into CPU0 socket it boots fine however. I've tried 2680, 2690 and 2697A. They all behave the exact same way. I'm using the S2B_3B22 BIOS, which...

Nope. None of the steps mentioned works. I just settled with the slightly lower size.

    HGST 8TB SAS HUH728080AL5200

I pulled the formatted disk and plugged it back, but it still didn't show the increase capacity. I also tried creating a dummy pool with the single disk after. That didn't change the size too. Is there something else I can try? I used the following command for the formatting sg_format --format...

    HGST 8TB SAS HUH728080AL5200

Interesting. I'll try pulling the drive and re-insert it again to see if it sees the extra space. Unfortunately I started another format with added flag so I need to wait for that to finish first.

What capacity are you guys seeing after format? I tried both 4k and 512 but the drive is still showing as 7.15TB in TrueNAS. This is the diskinfo 512 # sectorsize 7865536647168 # mediasize in bytes (7.2T) 15362376264 # mediasize in sectors 4096...

Apologies for reviving an old thread. Does anyone have the pinout for the front header connector? I tried using Gigabyte documentation but it doesn't seem to match up.

    HP A5820X-24XG-SFP+ 24x 10GbE SFP+ 4x Gigabit - $175

Damn 178 pages lol. The switches shown in the pinned post have pretty similar latency to this HP, which is also what I'm using. I'm looking to upgrade to something better, in the 800ns range if possible and lower power draw. I found the Brocade VDX 6740 to be pretty good spec-wise, but I have no...

Nightmare buying a Samsung drive off eBay

We purchased 2 "NEW" Samsung SSDs off eBay that was listed as Samsung drives for a server build we were doing. However, when we received them, they turned out to be HPE labeled. Due to the urgent time frame we needed the server, we still went ahead with the build. However, within the first week...
