Thanks for the info. A quick search shows the W6400 Pro to be 168mm.
One of the quad port nvme cards I was looking at (GLOTRENDS PA40) was 175mm iirc. It was that long because of the PCIe switch chip and support of 110mm nvme cards.
One thing I thought of also was the height of the nvme...
Any body know what the maximum length of the card the pcie slot/chassis can take? I looked through HP docs and did not find it listed.
I was thinking of adding a quad pcie nvme adapter and use the T740 as a storage server.
@reefland If you haven't see this post take a look. They used 2x32GB @ 2666. Not sure if (1x or 2x) 32GB 3200MHz would run @ 3200 in a T740 or not. Maybe someone else can chime in.
I have a T740 inbound and will be looking at memory and storage upgrades first.
Is the T740 sensitive about single/dual rank SODIMMS?
I have seen mentioned:
-G.Skill 64GB kit (F4-2666C18D-64GRS, currently oos @the egg)
-Crucial CT16G4TFD8266 (higher priced ECC memory)
