That's where I'm going to be, these 4 are going to become a storage cluster, but 10gbe is all I have for switching. I've been debating on doing something weird with either a dual port 100gbe nic or a pair of single port 100gbe that I can break out to 25s and make a software based switch out of...
So I have been doing 90 degree pcie adapters

and cheap garbage AOC from supermicro (Supermicro AOC-S2308L-L8e 8-channel 6Gbps SAS2/SATA3 PCIe 3.0 x8 IT/HBA Adapter | eBay ). Admittedly they are only sas2, and...
The best trick I learned for dealing with cage nuts is zip ties- you feed the tie through the nut and use that to keep it in place while locking it in. I've done dozens of racks using that and saved my hands from getting torn up.
Alright, I found the right rail kits to fit what these come with... but it's all meant for a much deeper rack that what I've got. I've got 36in racks, and I'm pretty sure these are meant for 42in. (also for those who are going to chime in- yes, I know the racks are resizable- which is my next...
No, I got it to work with single CPU.
Take the lid off and watch the post process, it'll go through 3 phases, just pay attention to the last number that comes up. Also watch the LEDs by CPU 1, there's a catastrophic error led that'll light at some point if the CPU is hosed
My kids moved down here from Alaska and are continually complaining about the heat. It's maybe 90f right now.
I was really hoping not to have to go with generic rail-less trays, but...
Has anyone got any idea what rails these use?
King slide 809 doesn't pick anything up, nor does king slide 3561. The inner rail is 32 inches long, and of course the mounting slugs do not match up to anything I have here in the lab.
I hate to necro post, but are you still able to get pcie to ocp adapters? I'm specifically looking for ocp 1.0, and of course searching for it only brings up combat fatigues.
Thanks in advance
Of course, which is why I mentioned it.
So the 6126F processors either run REALLY hot, or I damaged the heatsink.

Oh, and I forgot- this is not a sas3 motherboard. It's all sata. I had to add in an lsi 2008 to use sas. Those connectors just break out into sata ports.
