    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

I run pfSense inside HyperV on Windows Server 2019. I wasn't able to get gigabit speed with the onboard adapters. I ended up adding a 2 port Intel Pro 1000 PT card and get full gigabit speeds. Maybe the onboard NIC could do gigabit if pfSense was running directly on it, but I never tried that...

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

I've been running pfSense 2.4.4 in HyperV on Windows Server 2019 for a month without issue.

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

I guess I should have looked inside the case again before I ordered it. Got the adapter printed and the fan coming tomorrow. I took the top off to look at how much clearance it would have and then realized my network card goes over the CPU and I won't be able to do this. I guess I'll look for...

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

What fan did you use? I might try this if someone can recommend a good, quiet 80mm fan to use with it.

Okay, that is the one I was thinking of ordering. Let us know after you install it.

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

Which CPU fan did you get? I'm still debating if I will replace it. Replacing the chassis fan made a big difference. It is still loud though.

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

Correct. It shows up as version 56.16A in the BIOS. As part of my tests, I was going to do /O on the one I flashed to confirm my theory. In my excitement of finding the /CAF option, I forgot to test /O on it. Now, my family is home and they will kill me if I take the Internet down again ;)

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

I found there is an option (/CAF) to verify what the system has and the file matches. I backed up the system twice (again new md5's). I then ran with /CAF and it verified it matched the system. I am pretty convinced that /O must be writing something unique each time that doesn't matter. I...

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

What CPU fan did you replace with? I swapped the exhaust fan, which made it a lot quieter, but now I see what you mean about the CPU fan being loud.

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

I tried again and got 2 more md5's. I got to thinking about it - maybe it is writing a date/time in a header for when it created the backup? I don't know what tools you were using to open these with. I uploaded the two I did from today, maybe you can compare them and see what's going on? Maybe...

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

I'll give it a try again tomorrow. Family got home and I already had put pfSense in a VM and using it now. I have 1Gbit/s up/down Internet and my speeds dropped to 800Mbit/s on speed tests giving pfSense only 2 cores. I may look at running esxi or virtualbox instead. I've never used either of...

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

I didn't know how to shut down. I googled and saw fpadm poweroff, but there is no fdapm on my version of Freedos. I guess I can try to find that and copy it onto it. I have one of the fans you mentioned in the first post coming Monday. My daughter got home and asked what was so loud as she...

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

Okay, I just did that. Is there anything to do in DOS to make sure it is done writing before removing the USB drive? I've tried afudos /O oldrom.rom 3 times and got 3 different md5's from the file it creates. First impression - sounds like a quiet vacuum cleaner.

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

I was getting ready to spend way more and found this thread. So happy and excited about this box. This is just going to be a pfSense box on a gigabit link. I only use IPSec when I'm remote. So this box should be plenty for my needs, and don't plan to upgrade to a 10Gb NIC any time soon.

Yes, I ordered a new in box one on eBay. I didn’t realize it came with that part. :) I was just trying to get everything ordered. Also, I ordered 2 of those fans. Is that all I need for swapping out the existing ones?

    (Update 04-25) DFI DT122 (AMD RX-427BB) Industrial ITX T730-a-like; $99 shipped w/ 8GB

Great thread, I just ordered the DT122-BE and the Sunon fans. I'd like to add another dual port Intel network card to it. In the manual it shows using a T200-1E riser card, but I can't find it anywhere online. Will only that card work or would a different 90 degree riser card work?
