    LB1606R woes!

I wasn't able to fix this, I arrived at the conclusion that on a few of my drives I had borked controllers, I gave up on them.

AU WTB: four 3.84TB MLC M.2 drives

Hello, I want to buy four 3-bit MLC 22110 3.84TB M.2 drives, like the PM983. Fewer larger capacity MLC drives with the same or similar total capacity (~16TB) would also work. I'm not interested in anything with over 500TBW. You have to be willing to ship to Australia. Thanks for looking...

    Sandisk Lightning power modes

Thanks, life wouldn't really be life without a few mistakes along the way, buying old MLC SAS drives was a mistake that I won't repeat. You live and you learn. Running eight LB1606R close together would go a long way to helping heat your house lol :)

    THE CHIA FARM

@Bert I got four 18TB SAS cheap, I've found they do run hotter than the same model SATA drive and so I put my SAS disks in an external JBOD with decent cooling,

    THE CHIA FARM

I've moved to multiple low-power harvesters, it just purrs away and I don't really spend a significant amount of time on it anymore, I farm solo and I'm just playing the waiting game, I'm hodling the XCH I have until at least the first halving. Summer is coming and so my solar/battery storage...

    Sandisk Lightning power modes

Hi, Is anyone familiar with these drives, I have some LB1606R and I'm trying to figure out if I can put them into standby to save power, some posts over on the UNRAID forums provide the following info, I tried this but as you can see it doesn't seem to work (it should show additional sense...

    LB1606R woes!

This worked at getting rid of the partitions:sudo wipefs -a /dev/sd lol, this command seems to create the three partitions, probably because its direct to disksudo fio --filename=/dev/sd --rw=write --bs=128k --ioengine=libaio --iodepth=32 --runtime=30 --numjobs=1 --time_based --group_reporting...

    LB1606R woes!

    Actually I've just discovered lsblk -a shows partitions: sdb 8:16 0 1.5T 0 disk ├─sdb1 8:17 0 1.3T 0 part ├─sdb2 8:18 0 354.2G 0 part └─sdb4 8:20 0 346.1G 0 part sdc...

    LB1606R woes!

Update: I think I have this figured out, leaving it up in case it's useful for someone else. Hi, I started building up an Ubuntu 20.04 Server last night with eight used LB1606R, the drives are interesting to say the least. Challenging could be another word I would use. Five drives were OK...

Dual E5-2678v3 processors with 256GB RAM

Hi, Chances are this is just a faulty processor. Has anyone used a dual E5-2678v3 processors with 256GB ECC DDR4 RAM (8x32GB)? Reason I ask, I just installed 256GB on my X10DRL-i with dual E5-2678v3's and it throws up memory errors. Now the memory errors "move" when I swap the CPU's around...

    E5-2678v3 @ 139$ SR20Z 2.5GHz 12 Core

I have two of these processors on a X10DRL-i, one has gone bad I think (post #17). With the working one what would be the best motherboard to transplant that to?

X10SRL-F bad RAM slot or defective CPU?

Thanks for the thread, same "uncorrectable" DDR4 RAM issue on a X10DRL-i processor 2 memory slot, tried moving RAM sticks, lowering the memory speeds, cleaning everything and booting out of the case, no dice, ended up swapping processors around, the error moved to P1, I guess thats a CPU gone...

    Any four 3.5" SAS3 racks (SFF8643) in triple 5.25"?

Hi, I'm looking for a quad disk rack, preferably that uses trays (with LED pipes) that fits in a triple 5.25" bay, it should be 12Gbps and have a SFF8643 connector. Bonus points if you can suggest one thats easily available to Aussies. Thanks. Richard

Some drives not seen after reboot...

8 drives just dropped, I was able to remount 3 of them, have to unplug and plug the other 5. This issue is getting worse. I'm thinking that it could be power because really the only thing thats changed the number of drives. I'm at 42 drives now, this time last week I was at 36 drives, I have...

    RES3TV360 mounting

Thanks, @BeTeP, are you using nylon spacers to mount a RES3TV360, the problem I see is the usable mounting holes are in a straight line, obviously it was designed to be mounted in a very specific area of a specific Intel rack mount case. My current thinking is to use "PCB magnetic holders" from...

Some drives not seen after reboot...

Thanks, as @i386 stated, it's a straight-through backplane, no expander chip, I don't think that is the issue as surely the HBA would dictate that no?
