Brocade ICX 6450-24 vs Cisco Catalyst 2960G-24TC-L

Hi, If this is wrong forum to ask this I'm sorry. I can't decide which switch should I go with. I'm total newbie in terms of networking and I want to learn something new (on a homelab level). I don't have any special requirements, but I'm planning to use pfsense/opnsense on my R220 (I did not...

UK DELL PowerEdge R220 with E3-1220 V3, 4GB with I350-T2 nic for £34 OR ~55 EUR (including import charges)

For future reference: It did arrive all right from UK to Slovakia. Looks like brand new, even foil was on front panel, lid screw has one scratch caused by me. Came with iDrac 7 Enterprise + valid license, and I350-T2 as specified in description. Very happy with purchase.

UK DELL PowerEdge R220 with E3-1220 V3, 4GB with I350-T2 nic for £34 OR ~55 EUR (including import charges)

Pretty good deal for R220 considering that it contains I350-T2 nic (along with onboard broadcom BCM5720). It's also good deal for EU as seller does handle import charges. I paid 80 EUR for version with 8GB ram (including shipping and import charges)...

    Netapp DS4243 (with IOM3) trays $199.99

AFAIK, if you connect it directly to HBA, hdd size is only limited by HBA. I have 3tb drives in it and no problem (Connected to flashed H221). Edit: but do your research first :)

SOLD: Western Digital Data102 JBOD Enclosure $200 + Shipping

I found company which is transporting goods from US and according to their calculator, shipping would be ~100 eur (freight). But you know how it is with calculators vs real price. I was very tempted too, but as OP said, it needs to be at least half full, that is 51 drives.

10gb direct connection of 3 servers and two DS4243s

Yes :) 108 GB plots actually. First phase is plotting and it's quite resource intensive. Then, low power pc will be farming. I wanted to make plotting as much effective as possible with 10gbe, but for now I'll use just 1gbe, as I already spent almost all my planned budget.
