The board probably used the secondary BIOS because it was unable to make the PMEM work with the primary BIOS. Did you try 6+1 combo?

Keep the CMOS battery out for 30s at least. The board doesn't like the RAM stick in A0 for whatever reason. Is it properly seated? I'd try re-seating it again. I'm assuming A0 is RDIMM and not Optane? Try swapping in a different RAM stick. The BIOS will show the previous BIOS version until it...

    Intel Optane PMem & NVDIMMs

I'm sure you've already tried this but what was the result with 1 CPU in CPU0 socket and 4x RDIMM and 4x Optane alternating with RDIMM first? I'm also assuming you reset NVRAM whenever you change something?

Thingiverse has more options and the X12SPA-TF has a good number of fan headers (or you could get an additional fan hub) but I wouldn't do this in prod :). Let us know once you figure that out.

    Intel Optane PMem & NVDIMMs

I'm just running a couple of databases in my homelab, nothing that matches production workloads. The heat spreader does a decent job of dissipating heat but Optane PMEMs can consume up to 2x the wattage of RDIMMs.

    Intel Optane PMem & NVDIMMs

That's right. I am running this in a server chassis with a lot of airflow but not only are the DIMMs tight, they are also perpendicular to the direction of airflow. So far that's not been an issue but I had considered 3D printing a variant of these RAM coolers but haven't gotten around to...

I can also confirm that QS version of Optane PMEM 300 works in App Direct mode on Gigabyte MS33-CP0 and MS93-FS0 motherboards with R13 BIOS with the 6450C CPU installed. I installed alternating sticks of 4x DDR5 and 4x Optane (ie DDR5 in A0, Optane in B0 etc) for testing. The read bandwidth is...

    Intel Optane PMem & NVDIMMs

    QYFS on Gigabyte MS03-CE0 with F09 BIOS and 4x Optane PMEM 300 series in App Direct mode was successfully tested. Read test with fio sudo fio --name=pmem-max-seq-read \ --directory=/mnt/pmem0 \ --ioengine=io_uring \ --direct=1 \ --bs=1M \ --rw=read \ --size=50G \ --numjobs=8 \...

    Intel Optane PMem & NVDIMMs

Reporting back, for science! 4x Optane PMEM 300 and 4x DDR5-5600 (but running at 4400) work in App Direct mode on Gigabyte MS03-CE0 with F09 BIOS (thanks @RolloZ170 ) and Intel Xeon 6450C. I'll try memory mode and then QYFS next. 8x Optane PMEM 200 and 8x DDR4-3200 work in App Direct and...

Sharing additional data-point about the Intel Xeon 6450C (SRMHJ). It uses the E1B CPU carrier and with the latest BIOS of Gigabyte MS03-CE0 (R25), it boots successfully. I was getting the EE BIOS code with D15 BIOS version (code 47 in IPMI UI). Prior messages in the forum indicate that it is a...

    Intel Optane PMem & NVDIMMs

@frogelder Did you proceed further with your Optane PMEM 300 series investigation? Does the MS03-CE0 with the older BIOS work with 4 sticks of RAM and 4 sticks of Optane?

I'm noticing some Xeon 6450C CPUs pop up on ebay at pretty decent prices. Any idea if they'll work on a Gigabyte MS03-CE0? Will a pair of them work in dual socket mode on a Gigabyte MS93-FS0?

@butrus In the H14SSL-NT, P2, G2, G0, P4, P5 worked. I'm not sure if I needed to enable bifurcation to MCIO on P0 to see it work, but none of the SATA ports worked, so I'm not hopeful. The pins are wired to different locations on different boards. I'll wait for @benobolol to get back with his...

This Q4G9 on Alibaba looks interesting! Of course, the pictures don't match the description :) Here's a Q4G9 on eBay. How can I learn if this is 88 lanes or 136? EDIT: It looks like it might be 6747P which is 88 lanes.
