    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

Wasnt the consensus earlier on this thread that the SATA splitter chip is actually consuming a fair bit of power itself? RE my weird powertop issue, I created a script in Truenas that calls powertop --auto-tune and creates a file. If that file exists, then the script just exits instead. Then I...

    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

Update from my end, I went ahead and installed TrueNAS. I originally planned on going with OpenMediaVault and just mounting my mdadm array in there and being done with it. Turns out that proxmox requires a disk wipe (or a probably fragile custom fstab mount) to be able to pass the disks through...

    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

That's a good price, I ended up paying in the region of 60-70eur, though I went the lazy route and just picked an amazon listing. PSU itself is perfect, fan is silent (though I haven't really drawn above 50W). Depending on your setup you could find yourself limited with cabling, there's 2...

    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

Okay got it running just proxmox for now. While I decide if I want to migrate my current ubuntu/mdadm array to TrueNAS or just copy it as-is (any thoughts on this are welcome), here's the specs: N100 board 32GB 5600 Crucial memory 400W Cooler Master MWE PSU (Does quite well in wolfgang's...

    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

Looks like you were right, I tried the Display Port out and it's working fine! I did have the itch in the back of my mind to try DP initially but I didn't want to mess with my nicely cable managed desk. I'd assume that DP would be the nonfunctional port, not HDMI! The memory is running at 4800...

    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

So I messaged the chat, and they seem to think that it's the memory also. First said that it was testing the memory, but then suggested I buy some memory from them (good/bad idea? I can't even find any memory on their site). I booted it an hour ago and left it and it still hasn't done anything...

The stick I have is this one Crucial 32GB DDR5-5600 SODIMM | CT32G56C46S5 | Crucial.com Chripo mentioned earlier on this thread (page 2) that he managed to get the Crucial 48GB module working (I almost went with that model, actually, but decided to cheap out). Maybe the 5600MT is the issue?

    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

Aye the 4 pin is plugged in, and I checked all the connections. I just tested the PSU in my current homelab and everything works as expected so it's almost certainly not that. Is there a way to debug the RAM reliably? I'm not sure buying a new stick at random will help much, and I don't have...

    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

Thanks for this thread, reading through here pointed me in the right direction and saved me some money buying straight from cwwk instead of the aliexpress listing I was tempted by! I just recieved my board (N100, board screen has CW-ALDN-NAS ver:1.0 on it) Though I'm having trouble getting it...
